2021 Madeleine Angevine

2021 Puget Sound Madeleine Angevine - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

Probably the driest Mad Angie that we have ever produced - plenty of peach and melon on the nose with an early softness on the palate that belies the long pink grapefruit finish - this wine should pair wonderfully with local seafood dishes, or just enjoy it all by itself!

2021 Siegerrebe

2021 Puget Sound Siegerrebe - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

Siegerrebe is a cross between a Gewürztraminer and a Madeleine Angevine that originated in Germany in the 1920’s. The nose is laden with abundant pineapple and tangerine while the mid-palate moves quickly through grapefruit and peach to a clean finish. Enjoy this with your favorite curry dish or a spicy Thai pasta.

2021 High Tide White

2019 Puget Sound High Tide White - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

This is our dry blend of Madeleine Angevine and Madeleine Sylvaner. Honey, Pear and Guava on the nose with a wonderful minerality on the mid-palate - if you like a good Sauvignon Blanc, you are going to like this one. Suited perfectly for either a sun-soaked patio or the dinner table. The minerality and finish reminds some of a Sauvignon Blanc. You won’t go wrong with a seafood or shellfish pairing.

Oaked Madeleine Sylvaner

2019 Oaked Madeleine Sylvaner (OMS) - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

Much like Chardonnay grapes, Madeleine Sylvaner does not boast much varietal character or distinction, lending itself to some secondary fermentation and barrel aging to develop a softer mouth feel and flavor profile. Made for those who remember when Chardonnay was know for it’s soft and buttery taste.

Our only white wine that we oak. Soft and wonderful flavors with a smooth and spicy finish.

Sweet Maddy

2018 Sweet Maddy - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

A sweeter version of our Madeleine Angevine. We have many wine club members who enjoy a good German Riesling and asked for additional sweeter options beyond the Sweet Donna. At almost 3% residual sugar, this is about as sweet as we get with our estate wines. A touch of Tangerine and honey on the nose, a lengthy mid palate with a soft lingering sweet grapefruit finish. Nicely balanced with refreshing citrus acidity and swathes of aromatics, showcasing this grape like no other. Coupled with a crisp off dry sweetness. This wine is light bodied with a light color. You can see why so many enjoy it as their summer patio wine. This too pairs well with anything spicy.

Sweet Donna

2019 Sweet Donna - Grown and Produced at Comforts of Whidbey Winery and B&B

A favorite for the sweeter wine drinker. Sweet Donna is a nicely balanced, fruit forward off-dry white wine. It has a wonderful floral fragrance that is magnified by the slight sweetness. Ample acidity makes the peach and lichi fruit flavors pop in the mid-pallet. Smooth and lingering on the finish, this wine was the overwhelming favorite on a cheese and wine pairing experiment - everything from bland to Bleu seemed to go better with Sweet Donna. Sweet Donna also pairs well with spicy chicken and seafood dishes like Paella.

Technically only off-dry, we call it Sweet Donna to highlight Carl's mom, our sweet family matriarch.

2019 Cab/Syrah

When we put this blend together, we intended it to be 50/50 with a few barrels of our 2017 Horse Heaven Hill Syrah and our 2017 Red Mountain Cab (both in new American Oak). A week long cold soak on the Syrah gave us such a big wine that it overwhelmed the Cab! We had some ‘16 Wahluke Slope Cab in neutral barrels that we had intended to bottle separately - until we blended everything together. Still young, but settling down nicely, this is a wine to put in your cellar for years to come.
